1. Fred Rogers
Mister Rogers, whose real name was Fred McFeely Rogers, was a Presbyterian clergyman, novelist, producer, and television personality in the United States. The preschool television program Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, which aired from 1968 until 2001, was created, produced, and hosted by him. He is one of the Dartmouth College Notable Alumni.
2. Mindy Kaling
American actress, comedian, screenwriter, and producer Mindy Kaling is the stage name of Vera Mindy Chokalingam. She has been nominated for six Primetime Emmy Awards and has won two Screen Actors Guild Awards, one Tony Award, and countless other honors for her work. In 2013, Kaling was named by Time magazine as one of the top 100 global influencers. President Joe Biden presented her with the National Medal of the Arts ten years later.
3. Kirsten Gillibrand
American lawyer and politician Kirsten Elizabeth Gillibrand has been representing New York as the junior senator since 2009. She served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2009 as a Democratic Party member. She is another famous Dartmouth College Notable Alumni.
4. David Benioff
An American writer, director, and producer by the name of David Friedman is known by his stage name, David Benioff. He and his partner D. B. Weiss are most known for co-creating and serving as showrunners of the HBO adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novel series, Game of Thrones (2011–2019). The eighth and final season of the program has drawn criticism for its weak writing. In addition, he co-authored X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and wrote Troy (2004), City of Thieves (2008), and 25th Hour (2002).

Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller, also known by his stage moniker Rocky, was an American businessman and politician who held the office of 41st vice president under President Gerald Ford from 1974 to 1977. He previously held the office of 49th governor of New York from 1959 to 1973. He is a Republican and a descendant of the affluent Rockefeller dynasty. American actress, comedian, filmmaker, and talk show host Aisha Nilaja Tyler. She is recognized for starring as Dr. Tara Lewis in Criminal Minds, Andrea Marino in the first season of Ghost Whisperer, Mother Nature in the Santa Clause movies, Lana Kane in Archer, and recurring parts on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Talk Soup, and Friends.
7. Dan Gilroy
An American director and screenwriter named Daniel Christopher Gilroy. He is most known for writing and directing the 2014 film Nightcrawler, for which he received a nomination for Most Original Screenplay at the 87th Academy Awards and won Best Screenplay at the 30th Independent Spirit Awards. Freejack (1992), Two for the Money (2005), The Fall (2006), Real Steel (2011), and The Bourne Legacy (2012), the latter of which he co-wrote with his brother Tony Gilroy, are among his other screenplay credits.
8. Daniel Webster
In addition to serving as the 14th and 19th Secretaries of State under Presidents William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, and Millard Fillmore, Daniel Webster was an American lawyer and statesman who represented the states of New Hampshire and Massachusetts in the U.S. Congress. In his career, Webster argued more than 200 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, making him one of the most well-known American lawyers of the 19th century.
9. Rob Portman
Attorney and politician Robert Jones Portman represented Ohio in the United States Senate from 2011 to 2023. Portman, a Republican, served as the 14th United States trade representative from 2005 to 2006, the 35th head of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), from 2006 to 2007, and as Ohio’s 2nd congressional district’s representative from 1993 to 2005. He is another illustrious Dartmouth College Notable Alumni.
10. Bruce Rauner
American entrepreneur, politician, and philanthropist Bruce Vincent Rauner was the 42nd governor of Illinois from 2015 until 2019. He was the chairman of GTCR, a Chicago-based private equity firm, and R8 Capital Partners prior to his election. He won the Republican nomination for governor of Illinois in 2014, defeating incumbent Democrat Pat Quinn 50.3% to 46.4%. Rauner lost the general election to Democratic opponent J. B. Pritzker in a landslide in 2018, despite barely defeating Jeanne Ives in the Republican primary.
